Perception of Space, redefines exhibition engagement by elevating the collective experience over the presentation of artifacts within artistic spaces. Through a flexible layout, hands on engagement, and human dialogue, participants become stakeholders in a dynamic public environment, empowering active collaboration and curiosity with cultural narratives.
In the spring of 2024, a mural was designed and painted in collaboration with students and faculty from the CSULB Design Department, led by local artist Mer Young. After its completion, many community members expressed curiosity, asking: How was it made? Who created it? Why was it created? To address these questions, the Perception of Space utilizes Adobe Aero to bring the mural's story to life through augmented reality (AR) filters. These filters reveal the narrative behind the mural, showcasing the creative process, community contributions, and personal accounts. By acting as a window into the past, the AR experience transports audiences back in time to explore the mural's origins. At the same time, this initiative enriches a newly established artistic space on campus, transforming it into an interactive exhibition for everyday use and engagement.
Let's get to know each other.
